Title: What to do with cacti that are very thin at the bottom compared to the top?

Like the title says:
What do I do with my cacti that are a lot thinner at the bottom than top?
At the moment I have just put some extra soil in the pots to give some extra support.
I've been thinking about cutting off the bottom part and replanting them, is this a good idea?
I'm not going to do that until summer time brings around some more sun, but I'd like to get some tips as soon as possible.

Heres the one with the biggest difference in thickness:

Just bury the bottom portion when you re-pot it.
