Tragicfalacygtr2 GROW QUESTIONS

I started some williamsi seeds some time ago and lost all except one. I fried them in a humidity dome full sun in the greenhouse on a ninety degree day. Whoops. The dome got so hot it melted. In any case I took the lone survivor and grafted it to a pereskiopsis. My questions are.. one. Is it too young to graft? Two. Does the pereskiopsis shoot indicate that the graft did not take? And should I cut it off?

I have a very similar graft going.  Cut the side branching away.  I have noticed with all cacti, that the energy they spend pupping takes away from the 'primary' stem growth and thus I usually remove them.

It's hard to tell how healthy the little guy is being as ugly as he is. I'm afraid to loose him. I did remove the new pere growth.

Follow up question...I grafted a T. Pachanoi PC onto a pereskiopsis for future graft stock. The pachanoi is larger than the stock. Is this bad practice? Will it affect growth?

The passiflora on the left are in my giveaway and on the right seed from Madplanter. Both raised in the same environment.  I trust Madplanter knows his stuff. Could it be that the seeds I ordered were not truly p.edulis. thoughts?
