Hello
I'm a noob regarding Caapi.
Does this look like normal growth or is this scale perhaps?
The depicted Caapi is less thick than a pencil.
Thank you.

I poked at it with a tweezer and it fell off easily. Perhaps a dead scale bug? It was white inside. i didn't see anything moving inside. Hope it didn't have any offspring.

I’m pretty sure that’s a scale bug. I had a kratom plant years ago from a Florida vendor that had scale bugs. I fought them for years before the plant died. One day there were no bugs and the next day one of those pods hatched with hundreds of them crawling everywhere. They can really mess up some plants if not treated. I would scrub plants with rubbing alcohol on cotton ball and rinse them with water often. You can get rid of them though.

I got rid of them! by checking daily and scooping the babies up with a moist tip of a knife. I didn't give them a chance to develop into mature adults like the one in the picture.
