I'm trying to upload some pictures to the gallery and after attaching the picture and clicking on "post" I get the error "An Error Has Occurred! The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.". Any advice would be appreciated.

This has been an ongoing issue for about a month now. The work around is uploading the image to another host like imgur.com and posting the direct link inside [img][/'img]... remove the ' or press the monalisa icon and post link there

I've uploaded some images to imgur.com and then add them to posts with the IMG tags but get the little landscape picture with a tear through it. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Use direct link... or you can right click on the image and save image location.
Or you can add 'i.' before the link after http:// I assume you are using the 'share link'

I'm placing the img tags around this link.. http://imgur.com/jUfAEhp and it shows up as the torn landspace icon.

Whoa! It's huge.. Do I resize it before I upload it to imgur? I apologize, first time using imgur.
-
Yes; you can open the photo in paint to resize, then upload on Imagur. I have the same issue with my camera, I usually reduce my pics down to 15-20% of the original, but I guess that depends on the camera and megapixels how much smaller it should be shrunk.
-
Ok.. I'm doing this on a phone so I just have to find an app to resize it. Thanks for your help.
-
It may be in your phone's settings to take a smaller picture so you wouldn't need to resize it, unless you're wanting to share pics already taken 8)
-
When uploading to imgur select the check box on the left side, this will allow you to resize the photo during upload.
