Don't forget us sisters!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Roze- it's a celebration of the one nice interaction the settlers had with the natives before the pillaging.  :P

Thanksgiving is supposed to represent a 'first meal' that pilgrims who came to the Americas had with the native tribes, I can remember there being some play that my elementary school did about Thanksgiving but it was more a show for the parents and less about the actual history (I hardly remember what the real history is supposed to be). Today it basically represents a day for families to all come together at the dinner table to be thankful for whatever they have in life (family, friends, food, shelter, good health, things) and eat turkey, mashed potatoes w/gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, green beans, corn, pumpkin pie, apple pie, drink eggnog, it's not uncommon for a family to have a secret recipe or two they only break out for Thanksgiving to impress the relatives. Thanksgiving is also unfortunately ignored a lot of the time in its importance of being thankful, you don't really see Thanksgiving commercials, no, you'll see Black Friday commercials to get people thinking about Christmas shopping earlier. It's nice to see other people remembering Thanksgiving's importance :)

It is actually a day used to prepare themselves and give thanks for previous victories had in malls and stores the year before during black Friday, the real Holiday.

Participants binge on large amounts of food to get energy levels up so they can become physically dominant when shopping against foes.

How often do you see men in pajamas?
If a user named Lil'Miss_Fluffykins joins, that just might be a woman too!
...or at least a good dancer ;)

Lol this thread is great.. And the least radical explanations of thanksgiving I've heard given from internet americans.  I wear pajamas and my gender is irrelevant.

I'm sure the whole world can at least appreciate Danksgiving...  8)

Nope, way way different. Im one of the guys that could be Mr. Januar, February, March, ... in STS calendar, generally hanging out in gown or velvet smoking jacket with cute mullberry pajamas and all the other stuff that just makes hanging out comfy :)  Acacia, welcome to the club of pajama wearing STS members, we should open a restricted subforum for us to have a place with no danger to fear discrimmination on thanksgiving days.

Now I understaind a litle more about the thanksgiven day but I still have some questions:

what was the menu on that day? and who made the meal, the pilgrims or the natives?

And it was on that day that they smoke the famous "peace calumet"?  ::)

Btw I use a shaped dragon slipper can I join that StS pijama group?

Close, I actually have some self striped silk satin ones but the lad is certainly missing a few attributes, those mainly are:

- velvet slippers
- mullberry coat
- favourite plants
- velvet or wool smoking jacket or cashmere dressing gown
- his loved girls
- ascot or turbular scarf (dont wanna get cold nuh ?)
- hair
- a bed with silk bedding (agent provocateur once had awesome stuff) and sedation ::)

Did I miss something ? Probably but well, details the devil is in the details.

But I finally understood the idea of thanksgiving: It is the day americans welcomed refugees from overseas !  :o

Anyone else picturing the guy from the Heinekin commercials? He doesn't always wear pajamas, but when he does he looks right sexy.

LOL! And look what happened to them - succumbed to the will of the dominator culture.

Seriously folks, we all have more in common than we have differences.  On this thanksgiving day as we deviate from our normal discussions, I'd like to  express a bit of sentiment of what I'm thankful for.

We don't need the dominator mentality.  It has served humanity well with ensuring survival of a fledgling species in a hostile natural environment where competition for scarce resources has been through might rather than right.  However, there is no end to this game of dominator/dominated.

As we observe through history the rise and fall of empires, the dominators always succumb to their own success as the dominated become stronger and rise up to become the new dominator culture.  It make me wonder if it could have been done another way, if there is another way.

So I gave thanks that:
We are all one race - the human race.
We all call the same place home - planet earth.
We all speak the same language when we show respect for others.

The most basic respect for others is to accept that each chooses one's own destiny.  We all have something to share and all have something to contribute and we are all traders to the core.  If we get it right, were on our way to the stars.

My wish for this thanksgiving day is that we get it right this time.  Sorry if this was too long and boring.
Happy thanksgiving to all!

In which way?  I thought your statement was very clever.  Was it something I wrote that was unclear?
