I am curious as to how many seedians are interested in food foresting, and in starting one up.

Hopefully, with enough interest, maybe we could start up a thread about various natives and their food foresting uses, locations, and possible companions.
Or something like that :P

Hey Permie,

This is real interesting to me.  I am looking to buy some land in the coming months to build an off-grid home.  It will take a few years before I have the resources to finish it, but I'm going to want to be planting trees, berries, and perennial food crops right away.  I'm especially interested in southeast US natives that would do ok in a zone 7 environment...

I currently live in the south east of USA, zone 7b, so im happy to help :)
Ill definitely be adding much more food foresting and related permaculture topics, now thatbi know theres a good interest in the community.

Seedcollector, thats odd, no one else has said something similar so idk??

Actually, i was kind of thinking about starting a thread (or something) that details permaculture related plants that shows:
-where theyre native
-level of food forest
-possible companions
-function in a food forest/ uses
-etc,
(also, to get to the point to where the community is sharing wild native permaculture related seed :)) )

Or something like that. Im open to many suggestions on how to organize this, if it gets that far. I tried to start up something like this on the nexus, but i attempted it in a very unorganized manner, and there wasnt much of an interest over there.

So onion, it looks like you and i (and any other people in outheastern US that want to; or anyone for that matter :P) may become a sort of experiment to see how this can work out.
PS: onion ive got quite a few wild natives seeds that can be food corested that ive found :)
