Title: This is What Trichocereus With Rot Look Like
Post by: happyconcacti on September 02, 2014, 05:48:47 AM
Please share you photos of Trichocereus with Rot  :(

I know, it's a sad topic but I think it could help new-comers identify rot when it happens.

Sorry about the photo quality. But you can see the black/purple spots underneath the skin. The spots I'm referring to look like bruises that you see on humans. This is a tell-tale sign of rot.

This was a very bad case of rot. The main stalk of this cactus was completely rotted. I managed to save three small arms that had pupped up a few months before. I was pretty surprised by this one rotting as it had rooted a while back.

Anyway, after taking the photos I picked it up and it completely disintegrated into a small pool of rotten snot.

A couple days ago I tossed a peruvianus that was rotten all the way through. For some reason I decided not to take a pic as I figured it was useless, stupid me. :-\
