came to me as mimosa hostilis but strange thorns?
« on: January 13, 2020, 05:27:11 am »

can any one help identify this plant??? I believed it to be mimosa hostilis but these odd thorns make me suspicious that this is not the case. the plant is beautiful and only one year old and has not flowered yet I hope it will this year so I can have an easier time identifying.

if anyone can tell what this plant is I would be very grateful! (also dont mind the entity in the first photo)

that's likely m. hostilis, i grew one from seed, it was stolen, but it had thorns like that.

Those leafllets are waaay to big and the thorns are too long as well. Imma gonna have to disagree and say that doesn't look like M. hostilis at all.

The young growth on this plant doesn't look very similar to the wikipedia image of M. hostilis either.
Yours seems to be more woody and smooth, with larger thorns and the leaves look a bit different too but that's harder to say.
