is this syrian rue
« on: April 16, 2018, 02:08:20 AM »

Hello,

After months of ignoring my syrian rue seeds that I planted in some pots seedlings finally popped up. I recently transplanted them because they were getting a little unhealthy looking. Then I wondered is this even syrian rue!? Anyone know what syrian rue looks like?

The skinny feathery new growth nearly fooled me, but looking at the older leaves- yup, syrian rue.
If it transplants well you may get to see some seedpods this year.

Great thanks. Yes the plants are looking healthier after I transplanted them into some well  draining soil (same mix I use for cacti and succulents).

Woops, I guess I was wrong. It wasnt the new growth fooling me, it was the old growth.
I think you'll find its Nigella sativa, a spice and lactation-promoting medicine.

Bummer. Thanks for letting me know. I've been caring for these seedlings thinking they were syrian rue. Oh well no big deal.
