how big cacti to get?
« on: June 03, 2017, 09:10:32 AM »

im looking to buy some trichocereus cacti cuttings or plants- whats the general opinion on this, should i get as big as i can find (costs a lot) or just start out with small plants (up to 14cm)?

usually they recommend to get as big as possible, but my budget is`a bit limited+plus shipping is than more expensive.

so im asking your recommendation.

anybody knows whats the regular/normal price for t.pacanoi and t.briidgesii in Europe per 5 cm/10 cm/1m?

of course im planning to start from seeds too, but i would like to have some taller ones also.

When my love with the cacti started I also wanted to get the biggest pieces I can found, but now I understaind that growing small pieces or starting from seeds is way more pleasent.  First is a
exercise of patience and then you get a sense of proud when you see those little ones growing with you.

The other problem of getting big pieces is the shipping cost, unless you get them on the same country you live, the amount involved it will not be worth it.

If you want I can sent you a couple of pieces to start your collection :)
