Argemone mexicana germination?

I have tried on two separate occasions to germinate the seed of Argemone mexicana or the prickly poppy. I havent had a single seed germinate. I just planted them next to some papaver varieties and using the same method. No luck. If anyone has some advice I would appreciate it. Growing information seems to be hard to come by. Thanks!
