my very first dog was a black lab "codger the hover dog" then a chocolate lab named pookey. Have to agree wonderful creatures but hard to capture a good portrait with the total lack of contrast. Really hard to capture the their facial expressions. I miss my codger dog.

just can't keep these guys out of the water every season of the year my codger dog wanted to swim. Even when he was old and his hips were totally shot an full of arthritis he wanted in the water. Always carried a big beach towel in the car and a heavy plastic garbage bag. He once tried to chase about a dozen of the Queen's Swans way out in the middle of the Rideau river in Ottawa and they just about drowned him, he never did that again. Good buddy all heart.
