I found this TED TALK particularly intriguing. Marla Spivak is a honey bee specialist and has researched their immune systems greatly. In this video, she discusses the current problems and potential solutions. Essentially, we need to have a "hive-mind" to fix the bee problem.

Thanks for posting, it's nice to see that this information is getting out there. Makes me think of this post started by Roze http://sharetheseeds.me/forum/index.php?topic=1137.msg7623#msg7623 those would work well to help with the solution.
