Fairdinkumseeds sent me some cuttings of their Bacopa Monnieri - this is how it went.

Cuttings came like this.
Note the little white roots coming out from the node:

I wanted the white roots to be a little longer, so I left them in water for a few days. Roots that were already formed, grew longer and more and more white roots came out from the nodes:

Then, very carefully, I cut each length of the cutting into little sections that had both white roots and also stems with leaves
They soon looked like this:

I made some holes:

Very gently inserted the white roots into the holes, and filled them with soil:

I did this with many many more:

I bought some cat-litter trays very cheaply from a $2 store, and these are perfect for semi-aquatic plants. I just fill them up with water whenever it becomes too low, and occasionally change the water when the algae builds up too much. I have a little (what I think is) duckweed growing in the top and that deals with the algae nicely.

They all looked like this for at least a month, they had turned more yellow, and some flopped lifelessly on the surface.
I thought it had been a disaster:

Slowly but surely however, they came back to life and started growing with vigor:

Tiny, pretty flowers began to form - these flowers attracted butterflies (and ants), who would come a drink from the flowers:

I now have more Brahmi than I could ever eat alone!

I eat it everyday, and although quite bitter, I have begun to get very used to the taste and now quite enjoy its interesting flavour!

I would be quite happy to send some cuttings to anyone else, I know cuttings within Australia should be fine - but I have had no experience sending cutting internationally. I've seen this available at many nurseries, and recommend everyone give it a try, as it's very easy to maintain and excellent for your brain!

Great work Blackvine and thanks for the thorough grow log! Such a beautiful plant, especially when flowering  :)

Is that Portulacaria afra in the top-right corner of the last photo?

Actually I was just looking at P. afra in the nurseries the other day, and made the same comparison. That plant was given to us years ago, and is apparently a 'Jade plant' - (probably Crassula ovata, but I don't know), but after seeing the P. afra the other day, I'm starting to have doubts.

I have/had Portulaca oleracea, EVERYWHERE in my vegie patch - I've only just had time to clear it all, but it will be back for sure. Once that thing flowers, apparently it releases thousands of seeds that are viable for decades!

The good news is that it is edible and extremely nutritious, but it sure tastes a little weird :)

Very cool plant . Congratulations on the vigor and success! I'd be interested in growing it one day. Currently running out of indoor space though.

Fairdinkumseeds also sent me a cutting of brahmi, but it unfortunately didn't survive the trip from Australia. Looks like the OP is also in Oz and hasn't logged on in some time.

If anyone in the US has some they would like to share, HMU.
