Title: Hi from Canada!
Post by: CactusGrower on September 10, 2019, 04:56:45 AM
Hey guys, live in cold Canada (Alberta), growing whatever I can in this short summers :-)

I started growing some cacti from seeds this past January and some Lophohoras from summer. They are doing fine, but I am getting a lot of knowledge about seedlings since my collection is mainly adult succulents.
I joined this forum to share the progress, exchange the knowledge and possibly trade some plants to grow the collection.

I am excited to be part of the community.

Hello CactusGrower, welcome to STS.

Please share photos with us. Also what kind of soil mix you use for cacti. I also grow Lophophora cacti from seed and it is big fun.

Be well and welcome again :)

My lophophora seedlings are still very small :-)
I grow seedlings in coco coir, because it has great germination rates for me.

After they will be bigger they will go to some well-draining mix, I am currently experimenting with diatomaceous earth, clay and sand with some coco coir for some other cacti. I will definitely share more details in particular forum groups.
