Title: Black spot on bridgesii monstrose penis plant

Is this rot or a burn anyone that can help please do.

:-\ Looks like perhaps the start of the black patch malarkey?! Can't remember the term...

I have a similar but much larger patch on a much smaller plant of the same type. It started small, got bigger (~1-inch after a year), wept a drop or two of black stuff but then hardened off and (according to what I've seen online) should eventually heal over time. I think sometimes the same thing happens but goes soft instead of hardening, in which case take the same actions as with rot...

Please note that's about the entirety of my experience with/knowledge of this, I'm sure one of our resident Cactus Facilitators shall be able to give you a more definitive diagnosis!

Daconil will clear it right up and isn’t absorbed into the plant. Otherwise, keep it dry and it’ll probably clear up on its own. You’ll be left with some scarring either way.
