What a shame! Couldn't they try releasing bats to eat the mosquitos instead? Besides that it's only a matter of time before mosquitos evolve a tolerance to it, then what? This just sickens me.

Sometimes it helps to be a humble beeing and not asume to know everything and every answer. Instead of choosing the next best "solution" we should question everything and especially ourself and put more effort into research before acting, even if we feel to be sure.
Individuals do so just as much as government officials, only that their actions usually affect themselves primarily and maybe a few others. Recently farmers in middle europe for example importet an asian lady bug species that feasts more agressively on critters and populates faster. It should ring bells already but little did they know let alone think, those ladybugs are nasty, I guess the native ones are even less now and the problems are barely changed.
As the article states the problem.isnt even there.
